Hubert Gonera
He tried to study tourism while studying economics. Then he thought he found it at the University of Poznań, where he studied tourism and leisure as well as philosophy. He also worked for the tourism industry in Las Vegas and Corsica. Currently he tracks tourism down in Polish regions, cities and districts. He is the author of Strategy of Tourism Development in the Zachodniopomorskie Region, and co-designer of Strategy of Tourism Development in Białystok, Gdynia, Goleniów. He enjoys following the tracks, but he is even more fond of mapping them out. Additionally he drew up the concept of development of Salt Track in the Zachodniomorskie Province, Amber Road, Gothic Castles, Monuments of hydro-technique and Lighthouses in the Pomorskie Province. He contributed to the existence of water tourism track Pętla Żuław and he is co-author of the guidebook about this track. Marketing of places is his passion. When abroad he always delved how Poland is perceived as a country. He also wanted to deepen this subject in his would-be doctoral. At last he understood it is high time he acted. It is worth mentioning that he is a co-designer of the concept the Branding Poland. Branding Poland is an extensive project of creating brands of places which is dedicated to Polish cities and regions. Together with researchers from Synovate he drew up guidelines for image research: Region Brand Track and City Brand Track. Moreover, he is the author of press publications in this area. In his life he does not look for obstacles, but reasons for acting.
